RM of Elcapo’s story
The Rural Municipality of Elcapo No. 154 sits in the southeast part of Saskatchewan. It incorporated as a rural municipality on December 12, 1910.
Today the RM surrounds the towns of Grenfell and Broadview, along with the locality of Oakshela. Its municipal office is in Broadview, and an elected council and an appointed administrator run its affairs, meeting on the second Monday of each month.
The area is also home to the bigmouth buffalo, a fish species of special concern to environmentalists.
